     Mark graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies, Political Science, Spanish and Sociology. He graduated cum laude from J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1977, where he was an editor for the Legal Studies Program. During law school, Mark served as an intern with J. Clifford Wallace, Judge of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Diego, California.

     After law school, Mark practiced for three years in Phoenix, Arizona with the law firm of Ryley, Carlock & Ralston. In 1980, he moved his family to Twin Falls, Idaho and joined the May Law Firm, where he became the firm's managing partner.
     In 1990, Mark was elected to the Idaho State House of Representatives where he served for eight consecutive years before retiring from the legislature in 1998. While a member of the State House of Representatives, Mark held many leadership positions including Vice Chair of the Judiciary & Rules Committee, Vice Chair of the Environmental Affairs Committee,  and the Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Common Sense Task Force on the Environment.

     After retiring from the State Legislature, Mark left the May Law Firm to become an executive officer and legal counsel for Team America Inc., a professional employer organization. In addition to running the day to day operations of Team America, Mark also provided legal advice to the corporate headquarters of Team America in Columbus, Ohio.  He advised the corporate office on civil rights issues, employment law, wage and hour law, workers’ compensation, discrimination and harassment law, FMLA, ADA, and unemployment law. 
     In 2001, Mark and his wife moved to Utah where he became a founding partner of Fillmore Spencer. He is currently practicing business law, employment law, dispute resolution, and trademark law. Mark is also the current chair of the firm’s litigation department. He is active in the local Bar Association and in the community. Mark and his wife are the proud parents of five kids and fifteen grandkids.
